ODE and The American Economist are proud to announce their affiliation with Sage Publishing beginning with the spring issue of 2016. This new partnership will allow our prestigious journal to be available in an online format, something subscribers have been requesting, and allow the journal to expand in availability, readership, and convenience for authors and subscribers.

NEW MEMBERS will now receive free on-line access to The American Economist as part of their membership benefits. Print subscriptions will be available on request only at the special student rate of $20 per year.

Deadlines: August 1 is the deadline for submitting papers for the Fisher and Taussig article awards.

ODE EXECUTIVE BOARD: With the upcoming retirement of Dr. Mary Ellen Benedict from the Executive Board, a position for Vice-president will come available. Nominations for this position should be sent to Dr. Kathryn Nantz, ODE President and chair of the nominating committee ([email protected]). Self-nominations should include letters of recommendation and support from a dean or department chair. ODE’s Biennial Convention will be held in conjunction with the ASSA meetings in San Francisco in January 2016. Election of Executive Board officers for the 2016-2018 term will take place at the start of the Biennial Convention. A slate of officers will be sent to all chapters by November 1, 2015.

Distinguished Advisor Award: The ODE Distinguished Chapter Advisor Award for outstanding service is presented every other year at the Biennial Convention in conjunction with the ASSA meetings. Students and faculty can nominate an ODE chapter advisor based on longevity and/or outstanding service to the chapter and to the society. Self-nominations are also accepted with a letter of recommendation from a dean or department chair. The award consists of a plaque and $500. The deadline for nominations for 2016 is August 31, 2015.
